The Foundation and Components of Transition
Transition Services




One of the most critical periods of a student’s life is the transition to postsecondary life. Therefore, this training is designed to empower school personnel to create transition plans that comply with federal and state guidelines as outlined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).



Important Session Information:


Begin with the end in mind is the first step in developing transition services for students. This training will provide participants with the components of transition planning to maximize student participation in the IEP transition process. Major components that will be covered are federal and state guidelines, transition assessments, post-secondary and annual goals, student-led admission, review, and dismissal (ARDs), coordinated set of activities, agency involvement, and post-secondary opportunities.
