Brown Bag Book Spotlight: Lost At School: Why Our Kids With Behavioral Challenges Are Falling Through The Cracks And How We Can Help Them




A variety of professional development activities and trainings focusing on how to promote awareness, understanding, and/or best practices on addressing the needs of diverse students, who are often identified as having academic and/or behavior problems in the school setting.

Sessions and activities may be lead by national and local speakers, as well as ESC6 specialists and representatives from school districts.

Identification, discipline practices, implicit biases and inclusive evidence-based processes will be considered.  Participants may be asked to share their own perspectives.  


Important Session Information:


Book Discussion will consist on presenter highlighting the main points presented by the author(s) on issues pertaining to diversity, equity, and cultural perspectives in educational practices.  It is not required that participants have read the book. 

The Brown Bag Book Spotlight will follow the following basic format:

1. Brief introductions

2. Overview of the book

3. Questions pertaining to topic(s) addressed

4. Participants' responses/reflections overview

5. Wrap around with goal setting - when applicable
