Speech-Language Pathology Statewide Learning Series
SI Legal and Ethical Updates




Continuing education is a requirement for speech-language pathologists (SLPs).  The SLP must stay up to date on the latest in therapy and research. The Speech-Language Pathology Statewide Learning Series is designed to address current issues, best practices and intervention strategies for SLPs in the field.

 


Important Session Information:


This session will provide the most current information regarding legal issues that specifically affect the SLP in daily activities. The training is designed to prepare participants to deliver the speech-language pathology services in their school districts based on the most current legal state and federal framework. IDEA, ESSA, and the Texas Commissioner's Rules will be included in the discussion of current legal requirements. Legal briefs & court decisions involving current legal regulations will be reviewed. *Will count for Ethics CEUs*

This is a virtual event utilizing the Zoom platform. Participants are not required to create a zoom account. A computer set-up must include internet and camera capabilities. Participants will receive a Zoom link via email to join prior to the session. Check “My Account” on the registration page to ensure your email address in the ESC6 registration system is correct. Check-in is recommended 15-20 minutes prior to the start time of the event to allow entry into the session.
