Writing Impact and Need Statements in the Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE)
Facilitating Effective Standards-Based IEPs

When building effective IEPs, the ARD committee must recognize how the disability impacts the student. Thus, effective impact and need statements reflect the process in which the student learns and guides instructional decision-making to ensure the student has access to the general education curriculum.

Important Session Information:

Participants will gain knowledge on writing effective impact and need statements that relate to the student’s disability to create effective PLAAFPs, which then lead to the development of effective IEPs.

Due to the interactive nature of this presentation, the only option for this training is onsite. However, lunch will be provided as this session will have a working lunch. In addition, the rate has been reduced to facilitate TEA’s and the Child Find, Evaluation, and ARD Support Network’s initiative.
