MAA: Problem Solving and Discourse Grade 2
Second 1/2 Day 2nd Grade Math Follow Up Blended to Complete Stipend




In the TEA MAA Blended Follow Up for Grade 2, participants will:

  • connect problem solving experiences and discourse strategies to deepen the content experienced in the original Mathematics Achievement Academy, Grade 2;
  • explore and apply the problem-solving model found in the TEKS as a tool to help students make sense of mathematics and to help the mathematics make sense to students; and
  • explore and apply mathematical language routines to equip students to communicate their mathematical understanding with clarity.

Experiences include face-to-face, job-embedded practice, and online community.


Important Session Information:


Important Session Information:  You must have attended a three-day Original Mathematics Academy and day 1 of Problem Solving and Discourse to register for this session.  This course serves as a follow-up to the learning acquired during the Original Mathematics Academies.

Participants must: Teach 2nd Grade Math in the 2022-2023 School Year

*Registered participants will receive all resources emailed to them prior to this training.

*Training will be delivered in a virtual Zoom format 

**This is a three-part academy.  This session is the follow-up virtual meeting to meet requirements for $100 stipend and credit for the course.

Participants MUST register for and complete the Online Canvas Course Module in order to receive all CPE credit hours and certificates.
