Project TAPP: Tackling Autism via Paraprofessional Preparation
Project TAPP - Teaching, Autism and Practitioner Preparation

Attention Paraprofessionals!  Teachers!  Administrators!  Do you serve and support students with autism?

Texas A&M University is excited to present Project TAPP:  Teaching, Autism, and Practitioner Preparation - a two day workshop that provides professional development for teacher and paraprofessional teams working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Region 6 Education Service Center will be hosting this two day workshop covering different topics including reinforcement, functions of behavior, prompting, and various strategies and interventions.

Participants will leave with an increased knowledge of characteristics of students with ASD and other developmental disabilities, and applied behavior analysis, as well as tools and materials to take back to the classroom setting.

Following the workshop, Project TAPP will provide 3 months of follow-up to continue the support, implementation and success of paraprofessionals and teacher teams working with students with autism in Texas.  During follow up, Project TAPP will provide check-ins, resources related to the workshop and individualized support based on need.
