The Constructed Classroom: Designing the Instructional Environment for Student Success




Do you serve students with complex access needs that require a specialized setting?  Setting up your classroom can be a challenge to meet the needs of all of your students!  

 

The Constructed Classroom is an effective, specialized classroom that should be designed to encourage student participation, increase communication skills, and promote student independence across all areas of academic, social and behavioral components. 

 

This session will help you build or maintain the classroom elements that contribute to student progress while obtaining new and fresh ideas for spring rigor and motivation.

 

Learn additional structure and strategies to increase positive behaviors, model social skills, and encourage motivation to initiate and complete tasks.  Additionally, participants will acquire self-motivating techniques to reignite their energy for the spring semester.


Important Session Information:


An effective specialized classroom should be designed to encourage student participation, increase communication skills, and promote student independence across all areas of academic, social and behavioral components.  Participants attending this session will learn the critical elements of classroom design to support a variety of challenges and walk away with a classroom blueprint draft that is unique to their own students' needs.  By incorporating physical structure, visual accommodations, and building routines, educators will find that they are redirecting less and focusing on skill-building more!
