Executive Functioning in the Classroom: Support, Strategies and Tools to Help Teachers

Executive functions are a set of processes that all have to do with managing self and organizing resources in order to achieve a goal. When working efficiently, these skills allow students to manage impulses, work in deliberate and thoughtful manner, and organize time and materials. When there is a deficit in these executive functioning skills, academic performance suffers.

This event is designed to support general and special education teachers with and understanding of how to use strategies and tools that can be implemented immediately in the classroom to support students with executive functioning deficits.

Important Session Information:

Peg Dawson is a researcher, clinician, and author on the subject of executive functioning, which are the brain-based skills that allow a person to execute tasks.
