Phonics 101
The Phonics Rules You Never Knew




In this session we will dig in to all the many phonics rules of the English language.  We will explore the "big" rules, as well as the less known rules, that make English a highly decodable language.  Go from saying, "English just has lots of tricky words that don't follow the rules" to being confident in your ability to explain how to decode and encode approximately 85-90% of the words in the English language.

Important Session Information:


As we learn more about how students learn to read, we realize that phonics must be a central focus of our literacy instruction.  However, many educators were not taught all the phonics rules that they are now expected to teach.  Join us for a full day deep dive into the spelling rules of the English language.  Registration includes a copy of the book Uncovering the Logic of English by Denise Eide.
