Road to Recovery: Supporting Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Who Have Experienced Trauma
A Hybrid Event




This is a one day overview of the comprehensive and official Road to Recovery training that is designed to prepare educators to recognize and understand trauma for students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities as well as providing strategies for working with students and families from a trauma informed perspective.


Important Session Information:


The Road to Recovery program was developed by the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.

This session will provide a review of 6 Modules:

1. Setting the Stage

2. Development, IDD and Trauma

3. Traumatic Stress Responses in Children with IDD

4. Child & Family Well-Being and Resilience

5. IDD and Trauma-Informed Services and Treatment

6. Provider Self-Care
