Cross Linguistic Influence with English-Spanish Connections
Focus on Morphology in Word Work




Sessions in this series will focus on the similarities and differences in English and Spanish.  Teachers will learn effective strategies for helping students leverage what they know in both languages to improve reading and writing skills.

Important Session Information:


In this session, Bilingual/Dual Language teachers will focus on how to use prefixes, suffixes and roots that are common to both English and Spanish to build vocabulary, comprehension and spelling skills in bilingual students. Teachers will learn how to use graphic organizers, games, and word building activities to increase vocabulary skills in English and Spanish.

You will receive a survey about two weeks after the session, upon completion of the survey, a certificate of attendance and CPE credits will be awarded. Please check "My Account" on the Region 6 ESC registration page to ensure your current email address is in our ESC 6 system and associated with your school district. This is where the survey and certificate of attendance will be emailed.
