Writing Impactful and Defensible Full and Individual Evaluations
Synthesizing Multi-Sources of Data

Understanding the impact of student's disability(ies) on their academic progress starts with understanding how to use multiple sources of data in the full and individual evaluation (FIE), thus leading to consistency in the individual education program (IEP) development. In the Code of Federal Regulation, § 300.304 stipulates the use of a “variety of assessment tools and strategies” when making disability identification decisions and developing the content in a student’s IEP. Therefore, this presentation will explain how to synthesize multiple sources of data per federal and state regulations.

Important Session Information:

Under Dr. MiMi Gomez’s guidance, participants will be actively involved with case studies, including hands-on practice and feedback, to create informative and helpful achievement sections that will then assist with writing impact and needs statements.
