There are three required components of a Schoolwide Program that are essential to effective implementation:
- Conducting a comprehensive needs assessment
- Preparing a comprehensive schoolwide plan
- Evaluating the schoolwide plan annually
This full day session will focus on the first required component: Conducting a comprehensive needs assessment. The CNA process is the driving force which impacts the development of the district and campus improvement plans, district and campus parental involvement policies, State and Federal program expenditure planning, and the school-parent compact.
This training is designed to:
- assist campuses in monitoring and assessing the impact of programs, instruction, and other resources;
- assist campuses in examining multiple sources of data to define a true picture of needs; and,
- assist campuses in identifying strengths, needs, and to set priorities based on the greatest needs identified.
The Schoolwide Program Plan is based on a comprehensive needs assessment of the entire school that takes into account information on the academic achievement of children in relation to the challenging State academic standards, particularly the needs of those children who are failing, or are at-risk of failing, to meet the challenging State academic standards and any other factors as determined by the local educational agency;...
