Institute on the Founding Documents Series: The Delicate Balance of Power




Join Law-Related Education in this institute with a focus on the development of self-government by exploring important documents, such as the Declaration of Independence and Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution.  

Important Session Information:


Join Law-Related Education to examine the principles of the Constitution with a concentration on federalism and its impact on American history. This workshop will begin with an overview of the principles of the Constitution followed by a thorough examination of federalism. Our scholars will begin with the Constitution as a foundation for federalism and trace the development of federalism throughout American history. Teachers will leave the workshop equipped to address the ongoing struggle between the state and national governments.

Target Audience: 8th grade and high school U.S. History and Government teachers

Breakout sessions will focus on strategies to teach the principles of the Constitution and federalism as it relates to history and the impact of the Supreme Court on federal and state power.

Registration is free and lunch is provided.

**This session will be held at the Walter P. Jett Teaching and Learning Center located at 19073 David Memorial Drive, Shenandoah, TX 77385.
