Every teacher has encountered classroom disruptions, but what happens when they persist, despite your best strategies? Traditional approaches don’t always work, especially with students who are more persistent or have unique needs. In this workshop, we’ll “flip the script” and reframe how we view disruptive behavior. Nicole Stewart, BCBA and certified special education teacher, will guide participants in identifying the underlying need driving the behavior and in using behavior analytic strategies to promote positive, sustainable change. Together, we’ll explore common classroom challenges and practice reframing techniques that help shift disruptions into opportunities for learning and success.
