G/T Day 2: Identification & Assessment of Gifted Learners - Zoom
Hybrid Session




The purpose of this session is to familiarize teachers with the process by which a student is nominated, assessed, and identified for gifted (advanced academics) services. This training is Day 2 of the 30-hour foundation which is required for teachers of G/T students.

Important Session Information:


This session requires zoom attendance in the morning and afternoon as well as an independent work time during the day with documentation requirements to be uploaded. Participants must have technology access including internet capability and computer with camera and microphone capabilities. 

Nature and Needs is one training in a five-part series designed to meet the requirements of the Texas Administrative Code and the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students. Participants will explore the characteristics of gifted students and learn appropriate modifications necessitated by the exceptionalism of gifted students, explore strategies to nurture these needs while improving your ability to recognize and cope with this uniqueness. This session is required as part of the initial 30-hour foundation training. This session will also satisfy the Nature and Needs requirement for teachers of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or Dual Credit programs serving as G/T compliance mechanisms.
