Trainings: Session Detail

AAC and Teens

Working alongside teens in school can present different opportunities and challenges for communication. Understanding ways for implementing, building and training Augmentative and Alternative Communication ( AAC ) is crucial for these learners before they transition into the work setting or other environments post education. This three-hour course will introduce AAC and communication levels, pairing device set up and communication ideas along the way. We will also problem solve when teens arrive on our caseload without AAC or a system that doesn’t fit their communication or environmental needs. Through a make and take portion, this course will offer ideas for teen advocacy, phrases, topics scenarios, vocabulary and situations for implementation.

Join Speech Language Pathologist Mary Katherine Dally (AAC for All) to explore the latest technology and vocabulary to keep up with the teens!
