Join us as we move beyond end-of-year test prep and embrace a smarter, more sustainable approach to STAAR success. A More Perfect STAAR Review Series is designed to empower educators with data-driven strategies to strengthen STAAR performance for 8th-grade social studies—starting now, not later. In this second session, we will continue the journey of devising an effective and efficient plan for STAAR review. The session will begin with a pacing check and an in-depth view of what to expect on this year's STAAR test. We will then focus on answering Short Constructed Response questions and using STAAR supplemental aids. To end the day, teachers will begin the process of creating an instructional plan that organically includes the spiraling of previously taught content that spans the remaining school year.
Rather than treating STAAR review as a last-minute sprint in the spring, this session emphasizes the critical importance of weaving review seamlessly into daily instruction. Teachers will learn how to create recurring, purposeful opportunities for students to revisit and retain essential content—boosting long-term mastery and confidence.
