More Than Meets the Eye: Autism & Mental Health in Schools

Autistic students often experience mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, or trauma—but these struggles can be misunderstood as behavior problems. This workshop helps educators recognize signs of hidden distress and respond with empathy and structure.

Learn how to:

  • Spot emotional distress that doesn’t “look typical”
  • Reframe behavior as communication
  • Use tools like visual supports and co-regulation strategies
  • Create a safe, predictable classroom environment

Walk away with practical, neurodiversity-affirming strategies to better support the mental health of autistic students.
