Wednesday Wisdom- Trauma Informed Care
Session 1- What is Trauma? (Morning Session)

This six lesson series is designed to help educators understand the effects of trauma on students and how to have a more trauma informed approach. We will dive into what trauma can look like, how the brain is affected by trauma, how to shift the focus, and implement techniques into the classroom. With a trauma informed approach you can focus on building a safe environment for students to learn and creating connections.

These are virtual 30 minute sessions. Both morning and afternoon session will cover the same content. You are not required to have attended previous sessions, we will always recap what we've gone over. All are welcome to attend!

Important Workshop Information:

This first session will give an overview of what trauma is and how it can affect people differently. Understanding that trauma isn’t just about the event, it’s about the experience. We will also go over different types of trauma and what students are exposed to.
