Educator Wellness and Trauma-Informed Classrooms & Campuses

This session provides a whole school approach to creating trauma sensitive schools by focusing on research and strategies to support practices for educator wellness and trauma-informed classrooms and campuses. The training is intended for ALL educators including those who directly support classroom teachers as well as both campus and district level administrators.

According to the  National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), a trauma-informed system is one in which all parties involved recognize and respond to the impact of traumatic stress on children, staff, caregivers, and service providers. Research indicates that approximately 1 in 4 children will experience at least one traumatic event by age 16. A child's reactions to trauma can interfere considerably with learning and behavior at school. Given the impact and prevalence of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), schools play an important role in providing critical systems of support.

Join us to meet statutory requirements established by TEC 38.351 . This session is free for all Region 16 participants.
