Explicit Teaching: Model Your Thinking and Increase the Rigor of Student Work

Explicit teaching is not a new topic, but it's one of those that makes a lot of sense in a PD session, but is then difficult to institute in your classroom without support. In this session, we will work together on the whats, whys, and hows, and we will practice these skills (and give and receive feedback) to the point where we achieve a level of comfort and confidence that will lead us to improved teacher efficacy. This session will meet on April 16, 2026, from 9:00 to 4:00
