Recurring Themes and Concepts (RTCs) are a powerful new dimension of the science TEKS designed to help students think deeply, make connections, and understand core ideas across grade levels and disciplines. In this session, participants will unpack the purpose and structure of RTCs and explore practical strategies for weaving them into daily instruction. Through modeling, discussion, and hands-on examples, teachers will learn how to use RTCs as thinking tools that strengthen sensemaking, elevate student discourse, and support long-term understanding of science and engineering concepts.
