Discover how to transform STEM learning with real-world applications in agriculture, sustainability, and technology. This two-day, hands-on training introduces you to FarmBeats for Students, a micro:bit-powered platform that helps students explore digital sensors, data analysis, and artificial intelligence through meaningful agricultural investigations.
This training is fully immersive, and you will participate in the same investigations that your students will experience in your classroom.
You will:
Build and program a plant-monitoring system using a micro:bit and environmental sensors.
Explore how large agricultural data sets inform real-world decisions.
Build a simple machine learning model to understand how AI supports modern agriculture.
No prior coding or micro:bit experience required.
This session is designed for teachers of 6th through 8th grade students.
Participants receive a $200 stipend, actual travel costs reimbursed up to $200 for those traveling 50+ miles each way, lunch each day, and 5 micro:bit FarmBeats
