The Literacy Duet: Harmonizing Reading and Writing Through Mentor Texts (Grades K-5)

In this session, we will explore an integrated approach to the RLA block by bridging the gap between the page and the pen. Often, reading and writing are treated as separate "solo acts," but student growth occurs when these skills perform in harmony. Through the use of high-quality mentor texts, you will learn strategies to help your students internalize the moves of expert authors, leading to more sophisticated reading and more intentional writing.
