Real Reading in Social Studies Grades 2-5




Integrate Social Studies and Reading TEKS to foster authentic learning of both content areas. Participants will practice ways to integrate primary documents, historical fiction through trade books, informational text and literary nonfiction to understand the concepts and ideas in social studies making optimal use of instructional time. Participants will leave with lesson ideas, and a list of texts and resources to address social studies concepts.
