Instructional Fusion Conference: Courageous Conversations about Vietnam

English Language Arts and social studies teachers will fuse student interaction with academic literacy to engage all learners, including English language learners, gifted and talented students, and economically disadvantaged students. This conference will provide opportunities for educators to get real-world support and guidance for student-centered classrooms that create success for all students as we examine the root causes and effects of the Viet Nam era on American cultural and political institutions. Participants may contribute questions for a panel of veterans, immigrants, and private citizens whose lives were impacted by this critical time in American history. Participants will have conversations with professional historians who will share insight into this era. Sessions will fuse Social Studies and ELA themes to support critical success factor (CSF) 5: Increase Family and Community Engagement, and (CSF)7: Increase Teacher Quality.
