CACFP Planning Nutritious Meals and Snacks for Child Care




This class was developed to explain USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) meal pattern requirements, and how to apply nutrition recommendations, tools and resources in order for contracting entities (CEs) to plan reimbursable, nutritious, economical, and delicious meals and snacks. Participants will receive hands-on experience developing menus. The class includes an overview of nutrition education resources offered to CEs. By completing this class, participants will receive 6.0 hours toward Texas Department Family Protective Services (TDFPS) Child Care Licensing (CCL) requirements. This training is intended only for those contracting with TDA/USDA for the CACFP.
