Functional Listening for Students with Auditory Impairments: Advanced

Geared for professionals working with students who are deaf and hard of hearing who have knowledge of hearing loss, hearing aids, cochlear implants. Professionals should choose ONE FOCUS student to apply learned knowledge during this workshop. Participants will identify the four stages of listening development and determine where their focus student falls in the stages of development. Participants will describe their focus student's stage of speech development. Participants will choose x3 spoken language targets for strategic implementation in the classroom or therapy room. Participants will review current practice in use of hearing technology including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM systems.
