High Plains Drifter: Caprock Canyons State Park

Teachers will explore a local resource, Caprock Canyons State Park, through nature walks and featured activities. This state treasure is where the bison roam. Wind and water over the eons shaped the rugged beauty of Caprock Canyons State Park in the Panhandle of Texas. Today, bison roam the plains, bats roost in Clarity Tunnel, and you can explore 90 miles of trails. Participants will experience a Bison lesson with the Park interpreter, a hike to explore the geology and history of the park, and a bat tour to see the bats at dusk. This workshop is a part of the High Plains Drifter series. Participants will meet at the nature center’s entrance at 10 am to enter the center. For an additional fee, participants can overnight in the canyon.
