English Learner Virtual Institute Day 1 - Patterns of Power for ESL




Instead of chanting grammar rules or completing countless conventional worksheets, literacy coach Whitney La Rocca invites young writers to explore conventions as special effects devices that activate meaning. This online event will offer professional development opportunities related to instructional strategies designed to increase the academic achievement of English learners (ELs) for teachers of all grade levels. This workshop will be provided via ZOOM meeting. Participants will receive a link prior to the workshop. Registered participants will receive the book, Patterns of Power. It will be available for pickup after July 10th at the Region 16 Center (business side.)

Dr. Monica Lara will teach Bilingual/Dual Language educators ways to enhance the development of academic Spanish in their classrooms. No charge to participants in Title III SSA or BL/ESL Contract. CSFs 2,5,7
