Chat It Up: Number Talks in Secondary Math




Support your secondary mathematics students in moving from memorization to understanding of foundational math with NUMBER TALKS. What are those common mistakes middle and high school students make while performing math calculations and problem solving? What do teachers do to alleviate said misconceptions and common mistakes? Number Talks in the secondary math classroom are the solution to your problem of common mistakes and errors in upper level mathematics. Allowing students the opportunity to build fluency of content and mathematical communication will greatly reduce common mistakes. Teachers who attend this training will not only learn the value of number talks in secondary mathematics, but will be creating content specific number talks for the secondary math classroom that pinpoint common errors all students make.
