Trainings: Session Detail

Creating a Safe Place for Students

Over 50% of the nation's children have experienced at least one or more types of serious trauma. For so many of our students, school is their safe place that offers stability, predictability and structure. Schools can tap into this "safe place" and have systems in place to address the needs of our most vulnerable students. In this session we will focus on creating systems that promote safety and shift our mindset on how we see behavior differently. Our job is to keep students safe and it is their job to help keep it that way! So together let's learn the skills to teach our students what they are missing when it comes to dealing with upset, handling frustrations, and coping with the many perspectives they bring to the table. Together, we can make a difference. The resources will be geared toward a PK- 5th grade setting but the principles are universal.
