Trainings: Session Detail

Using the Area Model to explain Polynomials

Put a stop to your frustration with Polynomials. Are you spending way too much time on the basics with little student retention. Looking for a different visual way to teach the basic operations and factoring with polynomials that will connect to students' previous knowledge. We will use a digital and paper version of an area model that has been used since 3rd grade to connect what students already know to learning in Algebra 1 and 2. The focus of the day is operations with Polynomials, including multiple activities and Lead4ward activities for you to use in your classroom.
