Reimagine the Redesign: Ramping up STAAR Supports for RLA Grades 3-5




In 2019, HB 3906 passed sweeping changes to the current format of the STAAR, including online assessment, new question types, cross-curricular passages, and evidence-based writing. These changes will be implemented in the 2022-2023 school year. In this full-day session, we will look at the changes and how they more tightly align with RLA classroom experiences. We will identify resources for students who either meet eligibility criteria for additional support or students who may not qualify but utilize supports in the classroom regularly. Participants will leave with strategies to help align best practices, including accessibility features, designated supports, writing supports, and what these look like when used routinely and effectively during independent work in the classroom.
