Trainings: Session Detail

The Literacy Dance: How Reading and Writing Move Together in the Secondary ELAR Classroom

During this session, teachers will be introduced to the concept of the "literacy dance," which is the idea that reading and writing are interconnected skills that should be taught in tandem. The session will explore how reading skills, such as comprehension and analysis, can be reinforced through writing activities, and how writing skills, such as organization and clarity, can be strengthened through reading activities. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, teachers will leave the session with a deeper understanding of how to effectively teach reading and writing together, as well as a set of practical tools and strategies that they can use in their classrooms.
