Session Details: This session offers a hands-on, solutions-focused approach to addressing the barriers preventing students with disabilities from accessing meaningful CTE opportunities. Participants will explore ways to identify and dismantle systemic barriers, reflect on real-world case studies, and develop an actionable equity plan tailored to their context. Through interactive stations, guided discussions, and practical tools, attendees will walk away with research-backed strategies to promote belonging, access, and success in CTE programs.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Brynn V. Biggs is an experienced educator, transition specialist, and national trainer with over a decade of service in Texas public schools. With a doctorate in Educational Leadership, her research and work focus on promoting equity and access in Career and Technical Education (CTE) for students with disabilities. Dr. Biggs specializes in building collaborative partnerships between CTE and Special Education teams to support inclusive practices that lead to student success. She currently serves as the Coordinator of Proposal Development at Sam Houston State University and leads Beyond Barriers, where she provides professional development and program support across the country.
