504 Skill Building and Strategies

This session is designed to equip 504 Coordinators with the skills needed to accurately identify student disabilities and related barriers to learning in order to develop effective 504 plans that optimize student success. Participants will strengthen their understanding of eligibility criteria, disability identification, and the legal requirements of Section 504. Through guided practice and real-life scenarios, attendees will build confidence in selecting appropriate accommodations and services necessary to ensure students receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). By the end of the training, participants will be better prepared to write comprehensive, legally sound, and student-centered 504 plans that effectively remove barriers and support equitable access to learning.
