Texas Dyslexia Academy 1: Foundations

Texas Dyslexia Academy 1: Dyslexia Foundations is the first of six training opportunities developed to assist school districts and charter schools regarding dyslexia and related disorders. In this course, participants will learn how students acquire reading skills, why some students struggle in reading, what dyslexia is, and how to know whether dyslexia is the cause of a student’s reading difficulties.

Important Session Information:


Most sessions are free to Tailor-Made package participants, with the possible exception of the cost of materials and required fees. 

TAC §232.11 requires educators who teach students with dyslexia to have CPE training in new research and practices in educating students with dyslexia.*

*Successful completion of TDA 1 may satisfy this requirement, per local district policy.
