Applying NASP Ethical Principles to School Psychology Practice
Share
This three hour professional learning session provides school psychologists with an opportunity to examine the ethical principles and professional standards that guide practice in school settings. Participants will explore common ethical challenges encountered by school psychologists, including confidentiality, informed consent and assent, professional boundaries, culturally responsive practice, consultation, data-based decision making, and navigating competing responsibilities. By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify key ethical responsibilities in school psychology practice, apply an ethical decision-making framework to complex situations, recognize potential ethical risks in everyday practice, and develop practical strategies for maintaining ethical and legally sound professional practice.
