Student Learning Objectives - SLOs

Beginning 2017-2018, the Commissioner's Rules Concerning Educator Appraisal (Chapter 150) requires each teacher appraisal to include performance of teachers' students (student growth measure).  While this system is called student growth, it really is about teacher growth.  The more effective the teacher is in the classroom, the higher the student growth outcomes.

One method to measure student growth is student learning objectives (SLO).  SLOs are about focusing on supporting teachers to meet the learning needs of the students in their classrooms.  The Student Learning Objective Process is a series of questions that, if answered thougtfully and thoroughly, should lead to improvements in instruction and student learning.

Important Session Information:

This Student Learning Objective's training is for district and campus leadership teams to learn the Student Learning Objective process in order to support implementation of this method to measure student growth on campuses for teacher appraisal.
