The TxEIS PEIMS application provides programs to extract the appropriate data for the Summer PEIMS collection from the TxEIS Student systems. This "hands-on" session also covers what reports from other applications each campus should use to make sure the data about to be extracted is correct.

• Staff data can be extracted from the Business system, the Student system, or both. NOTE: Only Teachers and Long-Term Substitute Teachers are extracted for Summer.

• Data maintenance can be used to correct information that is incomplete or inaccurate. The maintenance functions also provide many of the edits defined in the PEIMS Data Standards to help ensure that the data being entered will be accepted by the TEA editor. You can easily search for student and staff records by name.

• TxEIS PEIMS provides reports for each record type.

The advantage of TxEIS PEIMS is that it interfaces with the other TxEIS systems. Having the information from the Business and Student systems available to the PEIMS application means that you have to do less work to create and maintain PEIMS data.
