Teachers who provide instruction and services that are a part of the district’s defined gifted/talented services receive a minimum of six (6) hours annually of professional development in gifted/talented education that is related to state teacher education standards (19 TAC §89.2(3) and TAC §233.1
Important Session Information:
*Attending to the Affect: Social and Emotional Learning of Gifted/Talented Students
is a workshop that examines the social and emotional characteristics of gifted/talented students. This workshop will assist teachers as they attend to the needs of individual students. Teachers will learn to provide both physical and emotional security around student experiences, and will develop a learning environment that acknowledges the value of a students’ thoughts, beliefs, cultures, interests, and life situations regardless of individual intellectual ability
