This three day workshop will provide:
1. A basic overview of SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and Oxy-fuel cutting;
2. A review of the American Welding Society D1.1 and D9.1 codes and welder testing criterion;
3. Hands on use of welding inspection and measuring tools to examine welds against code
inspection criteriaTime and effort system; ESC works; access to MOUs; training; calendar; travel time; access to fleet; time to plan, review, and customize materials; initial and follow up planning with team members as well as campus administrators; Accountability, School Improvement, ESF Training, and TIL training opportunities, coaching sessions, and updates; computer, phone; fleet service.
4. How to initiate a student welder qualification and certification program in your school;
5. A path for attending instructors to obtain welder certification to AWS welding codes and
welding inspection certification to American Society for Non-destructive Testing inspection
codes.
Tool kits for instructors to keep upon learning how to use included in the workshop.
10 student certifications for instructors to initiate the program in the 2019 school year- $20 each.
Day 1 and Day 2 will be held at Region 3. Day 3 will be held at Industrial High School Agricultural Department.
