This session is one developed by Mental Health America of Greater Houston (MHAGH) to help schools become more trauma-informed in their approach to students. This type of approach will help all school staff reduce the effects of trauma and grief on children by understand the how's and why's to student behavior in order to support and teach impacted skills. It is important also to understand when and how to refer a student for more support and treatment. This training is on the TEA/HHSC approved list of trauma and grief informed practices and is required of all school staff by recent amendments to the Texas Education Code.
PLEASE NOTE: This session will be held virtually via Zoom. Participants will need computer access with a speaker, microphone and video capability in order to fully participate and receive CEUs.
