Important Session Information:


This professional development course focuses on dyslexia intervention using Texas guidelines, current research, and evidence-based instructional practices. Participants will learn key components of structured literacy, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, along with skill development progressions for students with dyslexia.
The training emphasizes implementation of Reading by Design (RBD), a systematic, explicit, and intensive reading program. Educators will practice delivering daily small-group intervention and receive full program materials for classroom use.
The course requires a half-day pre-work session (June 4, 1:00–4:00 PM) and five full training days (June 8–12, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM). Additional assignments are required before and during the course, with approximately three hours of outside work per half day.
To earn certification, participants must complete assignments and pass a practicum lesson. Returning participants may attend as a refresher with a discount but will not receive materials or certification.
