Discipline often breaks down not because educators lack strategies, but because
reactions occur in moments of dysregulation—by students and adults. In this
workshop, Kevin Curtis guides participants through the evolution of dysregulated
discipline and explores how nervous system states, response patterns, and school
systems influence behavior, decision-making, and disproportionality in discipline
outcomes.
Participants will examine how reactive discipline creates repeated behavioral cycles
and inequitable outcomes, and how shifting to a regulation-first framework can
interrupt escalation, strengthen relationships, and support accountability without
harm. Through practical frameworks, guided reflection, and real-world school
examples, Kevin reframes discipline as a process rooted in awareness, regulation, and
intentional response.
This session is free for Region 3 districts. All other districts will be charged our standard workshop fee of $165.00.
