This professional development session serves as annual training compliance for Reading by Design-trained educators and provides an opportunity to deepen knowledge and strengthen implementation of morphology instruction. Participants will review the role of morphology in skilled reading and explore explicit instruction of high-utility morphemes. The session will include practical application of the morphemic analysis strategy and word building strategy to support students in decoding, vocabulary development, and comprehension. Participants will also engage in a Reading by Design lesson refresher and explore resources available for Volume 5 to enhance planning and instruction. Educators will leave with refreshed knowledge, practical strategies, and resources to support purposeful, explicit morphology instruction within Reading by Design.
