Bug Crazy Mad to Caterpillar Calm

How to go from Bug Crazy Mad to Caterpillar Calm using 5-steps of self-regulation, a safe place, the time machine, I love you rituals and feeling buddy curriculum in your early education classroom. You will get a glimpse of what it looks like to implement these Conscious Discipline techniques and more in a PreK/PPCD setting.

Important Session Information:

This half day session is for Early Childhood teachers, support staff, and administrators of young children. We will focus on using the Safe Place and the 5 steps of self-regulation adapted from the practices of Conscious Discipline. The goal of the safe place is to provide students with a place in their classroom where they can go when they are angry, sad, frustrated, anxious, etc. and begin to regulate their emotions so that they are ready to learn again. There will be many questions about how to create a successful safe place in your classroom. We will have the opportunity to trouble shoot, answer questions, and create a plan to meet the needs of students who have challenging behaviors.
