Spring: Assessing the Needs of Gifted/Talented Students




This class will offer Gifted/Talented credit and is part of the G/T Foundation courses. This course is free to all districts in the Gifted/Talented Coop.

Important Session Information:


In this course, participants will gain an understanding of how to implement Texas mandates concerning the assessment and identification of gifted and talented students. Participants will examine methods of assessment that help accurately identify the needs of the gifted students in a district, as well as classroom activities that elicit gifted behaviors. This is a required training topic for teachers needing the initial (Foundation) 30 hours of professional development for Gifted and Talented. This course is free to all districts in the Gifted/Talented Coop.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
